03. What do we do?
Attritor Mill: the Realspa Revolution in waste treatment
RealSpa s.r.l is the exclusive manufacturer of Attritor Mill systems, the first "mechanochemical reactors" of industrial size, considered among the most revolutionary systems in waste treatment, currently available on the market.
Mechanochemistry is a discipline based on the use of the principles of mechanics and chemistry in order to obtain materials with improved properties. In other words, mechanical forces such as friction, compression, impact, and abrasion are used to induce or accelerate chemical reactions that would normally require the use of chemical reagents or heat.
When a solid material is processed by Attritor Mills, it undergoes mechanochemical micronization generated by attritors that use grinding media of different types. The combination of friction and impact components, caused by these grinding media, generates a series of structural and chemical modifications on the treated material.
